What is violet noise?

Violet noise pushes the rising-with-frequency character of blue noise even further, concentrating most of its energy in the highest audible frequencies.

It is most commonly used for tinnitus masking, where its high-frequency emphasis can help cover ringing sounds.

Tips for using violet noise

It is the sharpest-sounding option here — start at a lower volume than the other noise types. If this feels too intense, blue noise has a similar bright character with less extreme emphasis.
