What is blue noise?

Blue noise is the opposite of brown — its energy rises with frequency, giving it a brighter, airier hiss with more emphasis on the highs.

It is sometimes used to help mask higher-pitched sounds, and some people find its brightness clarifying rather than sleepy.

Tips for using blue noise

Try pairing with a touch of warmth if the high end feels too sharp for your taste. For an even brighter, more piercing top end, violet noise takes this further still.
